I just joined the premium plan from my normal app. I was informed I joined premium on the app. But no other information at all regarding card or anything. I thought there was a option to choose card design etc but this does not seem to have happened.

Ordering a new card is not part of the upgrade flow. It’s just that all the benefits of the plan become active with the upgrade. You can find out your current plan in your profile.
You order a new card just like you normally would.
