Wrong currency being accessed from card

I used my Revolut card to pay for a car rental in France with Europcar. I’ve received my invoice and seen that despite using Revolut (with Euros preloaded) I’ve been charged exchange fees.

What’s even more strange is that it’s come off my USD balance on Revolut. This is despite the fact that 2) I’m a UK resident and 2) I had enough Euro’s on my card.

Revolut, can you please explain how this has gone so wrong?
