Wekeend rates aply for any transaction ?

I’m about to travel aboard on a multi country spree. First I had the same doubt as many on this community: How advantageous is it to have accounts created for each local currency. Then I saw many replies concerning the weekend rate tax. My question then is:

Suppose I have Euro account, I travel to Uk and purchase goods in Pound Sterling using my card on a Saturday.

Will I be charged a weekend conversion tax ?

Thanks in advance for any replies,
Cheers

Not a ‘tax’ - but you will receive a less favourable rate.

Gotcha, so Im better off having funds in the local currency if I’m to use the card on weekends ?

Normally yes. You are in fact fixing the exchange rate in advance.
