UK > Japan International Transfer

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to send larger amounts from UK > JP via SWIFT without incurring any fees?
I have have a Japanese bank account ready to go.

My plan is convert my GBP to JPY on Revolt, then send the JPY balance by SWIFT to my JP Bank (I realise the local JP bank may charge a fee for accepting funds).

Thanks

Revolut does not charge for SWIFT transfers, but intermediary banks may. There are more banks involved than just the sender and receiver.

Hi jakeunkutt
Have you done Japanese transfer? I need to move my money to my Japanese bank account in a few months, which I havenโ€™t done before. So Iโ€™m kind of a bit worried. I read somewhere Japanese banks usually charge a fee for fund coming from abroad and also they sometimes ring the recipient about the transfer (presumably checking out if itโ€™s money laundering or not).
If you have done transfer, were there any problems?

Yes, there is a lifting charge, which Japanese bank charges. There are several banks with Zero lifting charge.
