Stripe payments not being received into Revolut account.

So I setup my Stripe account with Revolut as my bank account using my IBAN.

I successfully got the first payment from Stripe in March 15th no problem.

A second payment was sent March 19th and due to arrive March 20th.

However now it’s March 25th and it hasn’t arrived yet.

Stripe support nor Revolut support have been able to help yet.

I notice someone else having the same problem here Paiment from stripe never received

Hi, same problem here and not resolved yet… Friday stripe told me they will make search. I m waiting tomorrow for their answer… what about you?

I’m also waiting for Stripe and Revolut to investigate and give me more information. Right now my money left my Stripe account and 5 days later it’s not arrived in my Revolut account. Revolut told me that there is no problem and Stripe works fine and Stripe is telling me that it doesn’t work with banks like Revolut and the fact that I had the first payment go through on March 15th was just lucky.

If I hear some information, anything at all I, I will write here and let you know okay. I promise.

Hey there

I have some good news. Stripe support replied. It seems like there is a problem on their side.

I will paste the reply I got from them in case this helps you!

Hi quinn5

I’ve had a look into this issue with our specialists - thank you for your patience.

Some payouts from Stripe to Revolut bank accounts intended to arrive on or after 2018-03-19 are currently delayed. We are working on resolving the problem.

For future payouts, please, re-enter your bank details in your Stripe account: https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/payouts
It should be automatically updated to REVOLUT LTD and the BIC should show up as REVOGB22.

I apologize for the delay and the trouble this is causing. Please, let me know if I can answer any questions you might have about receiving your funds.

I will update you as soon as I hear back from our engineering team.

Best,

So I re-entered my Revolut IBAN number into Stripe and I see now that in Stripe instead of saying ‘Barclays’ as it was before, now it says ‘Revolut’.

Also I noticed today a notification in the Stripe dashboard that says…

“Recently, Revolut updated their bank information. In order to have this change reflected on your Stripe account, please re-enter your bank information in your Stripe account as soon as possible. Please, contact us with any questions.”

Another reply from stripe. I’ll paste below. It’s funny that Stripe seem to know more than what Revolut support do. I talked to Revolut support several times via chat and none of the people I spoke to had any clear idea of what the problem was. They were actually unable to help me at all. Which is funny, because the problem was actually on Revolut side by them changing their bank details and they weren’t able to tell me this. It’s not great because it makes me think that Revolut support have no real idea about what’s happening in their own company. At least Stripe support seem to be clued on!

Hi Simon,

Thank you for writing in, I’m happy to shed some light into this issue!

To give you context, whenever an IBAN is added to your Stripe account, Stripe automatically derives the BIC (Bank Identifier Code) from it.
The BIC uniquely identifies the bank, its name and country and is used along with the IBAN for sending and receiving transfers.

Recently, it seems that Revolut updated the BIC used for their EUR-denominated bank accounts from BARCGB22XXX to REVOGB21XXX.
We received notice of this change and updated our database on March 22th.

As a result, some payouts created after 03/18 may have been sent with the former BIC BARCGB22XXX.
We have not received any returns from your bank: it’s likely that those funds simply need to be reallocated by your bank to the correct bank account.
As next steps, I’d recommend:

  1. Reach out to your bank and provide details from your payouts, including bank account, BIC (BARCGB22XXX), date and amount.
  2. If your bank says it has been returned to Stripe, please request an MT103 or an official bank letter indicating the date of the return
  3. Re-enter your bank informations in your Stripe account: Stripe Login | Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard

It should be automatically updated to REVOLUT LTD and the BIC should show up as REVOGB22. That way, all future payouts will be sent with the correct BIC.

I apologize for the delay and the trouble this is causing.
Please, let me know if I can answer any questions you might have about receiving your funds.

Best,
Stripe Support
