a) Purchase 100EUR on my EUR Revolut Account with my GBP Bank
I don’t think this is possible, unless you have a Euro currency account with your legacy bank, in which case you’ll transfer Euros from your Euro legacy currency account to your Euro Revolut currenty account.
b) Transfer GBP from my GBP Bank to GBP Revolut Account and THEN transfer from Revolut GBP Account to Revolut EUR account.
The normal method for customers who want to acquire Euros is as follows:
Legacy GBP bank --Transfer GBP–> Revolut GBP currency account --Exchange GBP for Euro–> Revolut EUR currency account.
p.s. I read it is bad to exchange on the weekend because of the inter-bank rates being low then - is that correct?
It should be a 0.5% mark-up from the spot interbank exchange rate, on the weekend (Given how GBP is part of the ‘major currencies’ list.).
The main reason why the weekend mark-up exists is due to lower liquidity during the weekend (Less FX trading.).
