Newbie question about spending abroad.

#1

Evening/morning/afternoon everyone.

I have a quick question to ask (I have tried searching before posting)

This year I am off to America and taking the Revolut for spending. Could somebody please answer a scenario for me please.

Example:
Restaurant bill comes to $50.
Balance on Revolut card is $20 dollars and £70 pound.
Will this deduct the $20 then the remaining balance in GBP? Or do I need the full amount of bill on the card in that currency?

I shall mostly be converting into dollars but I do like the idea of keeping pounds too.

Thank you in advance.

Hey @rosep

You need to have enough balance in one single currency to be able to make the transaction

I’ve seen you helping others. You truly are a legend.

Clearly I didn’t look hard enough. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thank you

In this case it would deduct the full amount in pounds.

Thank you @Rona

It’s a scenario I shouldn’t find myself in. But just incase towards the back end of the holiday.
