Card use abroad on holiday

Good morning,
UK user
As a new user to Revolut can i just ask the following please:
1/ If i have my card loaded with a GBP balance of £1000, & i visit Turkey do i just use it to pay any transactions off the GPB balance on the card?
OR
2/ Should I move my GPB amount to the TYL account side 1st & pay in TYL?
Hoping I’ve explained myself correctly
Regards
Steve

Hello @Barnstormer Welcome to the community.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Here is a breakdown of the answer :

  • Your base currency: This is the currency your account is set to by default.
  • Account with the most funds: If your transaction isn’t in your base currency, Revolut will use the currency pocket with the most money in it to cover the cost.

To avoid any double conversion fees from the merchants , it’s usually best to convert your money to the local currency beforehand.

You can also link a specific currency pocket to your Revolut card. That way, you’ll be sure the money will be deducted in a specific currency.

Hope this helps.
