Card declined twice but money has still been deducted - how long does it take to go back in?

Hi can anyone help im in the usa and only have my revoult card to rely on…i needed petrol desperately and it was declined so card blocked but thats shortef bow however £40 has been dedicted from my balance does anyone know when this will go back to my account?
