Simplified. I have to use my ID card to create a Revolut account. Driving license is useless. 
Maybe we could petition the current Home Secretary to revive them?
I never actually got to use one because I’m only 18 currently.
I’d definitely like to see them return due to my belief that we should be heading towards tighter integrations with our cousins.

There’s no point in petitioning the current government for this, especially while Theresa May clings on to power. Only when she is gone, possibly after a general election, is it worth petitioning for such things. But in any case, unless Brexit is cancelled or a deal is reached that resembles Switzerland’s deals with the EU, any UK ID card is unlikely to be accepted by EEA countries.
I don’t see it happening now Bercow has blocked a third vote.
So I can cling onto my hope!
