Avoiding credit FX rates

Hi,
I’m travelling to Australia soon. I want to book some events in Oz but want to avoid the credit card FX rates as I’ve already been stung. If I pay with Revolut what sort of fees can I expect or is there a good way to keep fees to a minimum?

Also never pay with your home currency on weekends because revolut will add a 0.5% fee on the latest exchange rate.

Exchange into AUD and spend from an AUD balance. If an Australian merchant’s terminal asks you whether you want to pay in GBP, always decline and pay in AUD.
