They don’t have to dump it. They can keep the feature and introduce fees for standard accounts and keep it free for premium for example. Fincancial services are exempt from surcharge ban.

Around a month or so later, auto top-up functionality reappears. After around 15 days of gradual manual top ups I gave up, I think this is a timing thing. In my opinion this has little to do with manual top-ups as the functionality has also appeared on linked cards I added at the same time as my replacement cards, but never topped up with.
How to stop the auto top-up. I do not need that at all. Come on, Revolut, could you stop inovations?
Revolut asked me for a kind of card verification document from my bank Barclays. Barclays said they do not provide any such document.
Revolut said it needs to show the last 4 digits of my card number and my name.
Sorry but checked all of my statements and Barclays do not print any debit card number on the statements so a no go with auto top up.
Unless there is a Barclays document I’m unaware of.
Big improvement is required as I can’t even activate it with such a major bank Barclays
