Amazon + Revolut = AMAZON ACCOUNT LOCK!?

3D is cheaper than non-3D, but the conversion rate is worse, that’s why merchants selling to the general public (lots of people who can’t handle 3D) sometimes skip it.

Thanks for pointing this out. Are you referring to this?

I am wondering to what extend this applies to Amazon due to the uniquely large and diverse payments structure. I guess Amazon is very data driven here and does this to maximize revenue. And conversion is certainly a big factor.

Did anyone manage to solve this? as my account on amazon.de just got locked also.

Have you tried contacting amazon support? What did they say?

they unlocked my account then they cancelled my order :man_facepalming:
Then I order from amazon.com without any problems

Revolut still have this issue with Amazon Europe.
You can’t get your account unlocked because Revolut doesn’t have any documents which says the last 4 digits on the VISA-card with any of their transactions documents.

Revolut says that the Revolut card confirmation document should be enough, which is not the case when you contact Amazon.

To be clear, Revolut doesnt have any Billing statement that is enough proof for Amazon to unlock you account ones locked.

I have just lost my Amazon account I had for years because Revolut staff was not able to provide me with a billing statement which would have a card information on it. Looking at this and some other threads on the subject, I understand the issue is not new and the bank has not done anything about it for a long time. It is very disappointing and unfortunate that I found out about the problem in this way. Had I known that Revolut is basically incompatible with the requirements of Amazon, I wouldn’t have opened an account with this bank, or at least wouldn’t have used their card for Amazon purchases.

Very very disappointing indeed.

Many people including me use Revolut with Amazon without any issues.

I also have used Revolut with Amazon for years without issue.
You could try and submit your Revolut card confirmation document to them as evidence of ownership?
Go to your profile in the app, select Documents and download it there. That shows your billing address, and also the address that each (physical) card you have on your account was shipped to

I also had a couple of successful purchases until the day came and my order triggered some Amazon circuit breaker. Since no one is explaining what exactly is “wrong”, one can only guess what it is: the purchase price, shipment destination or possibly star alignment issues, who knows… The thing is, once it happens, at least in my case, I could not find sufficient arguments/documents to satisfy Amazon’s request as they put it, “to verify your ownership of the master card ending in xxxx”.

It would be interesting to hear if anyone else managed to solve similar situations recently and how.

Tried it all. Submitted files:

  • account data

  • card confirmation

  • transactions history (including couple of successful transactions with Amazon)

None worked. Same reply from Amazon:

"Thank you for your response. We were unable to verify your ownership of the master card ending in xxxx.

Please reply to this message and attach a recent billing statement for this payment card. Please ensure the following are visible:

– The last four digits of the card only. For your security, do not include full card or account numbers.
– Billing name and address
– If included in your billing statement, also include a phone number.

If you are unable to provide us this information, we may proceed to close your Amazon account for security purposes."

Also called customer support over the phone who could not say anything of substance or explain more than just cross-check my data and forward info to “account specialists”. No reasons for freezing the account given. Refused to connect directly to any of the “account specialists” to clarify the situation.

I can’t even use this revolut with amazon prime because amazon prime says it doesn’t support this card…

but i read lots of people use it, don’t understand the problem here, what can it be? should I have money on the revolut card first to use the free period on amazon prime?

Also I need to make replies on other topics to be able to open a new one myself, so sorry for replying on old topic looking for help.

Faced the same issue. Got my account locked on amazon.de. And don’t have any new ideas hot to unlock it back. Documents Revolut currently provides are not sufficient for Amazon as a proof for my Visa card

Has Amazon actually explained what they are looking for? Debit card payments come straight out of the current account and I’m not aware of any bank that prints the debit card number on their current account statements. Neither here in the UK, nor in Germany. Revolut is not alone here. Is it some kind of confirmation letter they want?

I have a lock on my Amazon account due to a changed phone number

Perhaps something has changed lately. I was not using the “Get statement” functionality for a very long time (if ever - no real need for now at least  ). But I got curious and just have checked it. And for each transaction I have a reference: either IBAN (for transfers) or partially masked card number, that was used for the payment. Have a look at the sample:

Is it still not enough for Amazon?
