Account for Direct Debits in Spain

I’m Irish and live in Ireland but own an apartment in Spain. I need a Spanish bank account, which I have for 15 years to pay the bills, insurance, community fees, taxes etc. The Spanish bank fees have got very expensive and I wonder if I could close my Spanish account and use my Revolut account instead to pay the bills which come in as direct debits? I know that a direct debit system for Euros has been introduced but is this okay to use with bills and taxes which originate from Spanish companies and banks?

Many thanks

I would think so. Revolut’s euro IBANs are regular (British) SEPA IBANs which should work without issues in Spain too. The only thing, AFAIK there are issues when you want to withdraw money in Spain as Spanish ATMs apparently charge foreign cards.
